Virgin Media führt New Order die Top Ten der besten Auftritte beim größten und bedeutendsten europäischen Festival in Glastonbury an.
New Order may have now split up but the Mancunian legends leave behind a legacy of three quality Glasto appearances. In 1981, New Order had only been in existence a year after the suicide of Ian Curtis (the frontman of their former incarnation as Joy Division). Their dark electronica climaxed with a triumphant version of Everything's Gone Green - a pointer towards their new dancey direction which was beautifully showcased at their headlining slot in 1987: a performance that included their first ever airing of True Faith. 2005 saw New Order brighten up that year's mud-fest by playing classic Joy Division songs Love Will Tear Us Apart and Transmission and dedicating them to the memory of Ian Curtis, John Peel and Rob Gretton. They will be sorely missed.
